The Address

How long has Healing Touch been in Staunton?

Since 2009. The address is 838 Greenville Avenue, and the building is a single-storey storefront put up in 1967 — 1,608 square feet on a 0.46-acre lot, with 9,500 square feet of asphalt driveway around it, per the city assessor's record for parcel 5314. That is about six times as much parking as building.

Getting here is the other half of it. Verona is about 11 minutes away, Fishersville 13 and Waynesboro 18; I-81 exit 220 sits 2 miles and about 4 minutes from the lot, and it is the exit for I-81 south, and everything off I-64. A dozen towns are inside a comfortable drive, which is how a studio this size keeps a book of regulars. The directions page has the turn-by-turn from each of them.

The Team

Who will be working on you?

One of seven people, and you can ask for the same one next time. The team is Melody, Mint T, Nana, Noi, Srinya P, Stacey P. and Tun.

Regulars book by name. One of the studio's Google reviews names Tun outright, which is what a book of repeat clients looks like from the outside. If you have a preference, say so when you book, or call (540) 290-3383 and ask who is on the schedule that day.

Tun always gives an excellent massage. I highly recommend Healing Touch Body Works

Stacey P., Licensed Esthetician

Stacey is a Licensed Esthetician offering customized facials, waxing, lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow shaping, tinting, and lamination. She provides personalized, detail-focused care in a comfortable and relaxing environment.

Her half of the menu books into the same visit as a massage — a facial after an hour on the table, or a set of lash extensions while you are already parked. Esthetics is licensed separately from massage therapy in Virginia; Stacey's credential is the esthetics one.

Is my therapist licensed?

Massage therapy is a licensed profession in Virginia. The Virginia Board of Nursing issues the Licensed Massage Therapist credential, and § 54.1-3029 of the Code of Virginia requires an applicant to be at least 18 and to have completed a massage therapy program of at least 500 hours, then to pass the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards licensing examination or another the Board accepts. To renew every two years, 18VAC90-50-75 asks a therapist either to hold current NCBTMB certification or to complete 24 hours of continuing education including an hour of professional ethics. Any Virginia licence can be checked, free, on the Department of Health Professions lookup. Ask us who is working on the day you book, and check the licence yourself.

The Visit

What happens during a visit?

Four things, every time, whichever session you booked.

  • A session built around what you say you want
  • A private treatment room
  • A quiet, professional environment
  • Clear communication and respectful boundaries

A Custom Massage also brings a complimentary heat treatment and organic coconut oil on request.

Before a first session you fill in a short health intake form. It takes a couple of minutes, and it is what lets a therapist set pressure, positioning and technique for you. The rest is settled in the first five minutes on the table, and you can change your mind partway through.

If this is your first massage anywhere, the first-visit walkthrough covers arrival, draping and what to say; the questions page covers tipping, late arrivals and the 24-hour cancellation policy.

Four Reasons

Why do people keep coming back?

Different reasons, and four of them come up more than the rest. The full menu and prices are one page over.

Open since 2009

Sixteen years on Greenville Avenue, with a 4.9-star average across 472 Google reviews.

English, Chinese and Thai

Sessions run in whichever of the three you are most comfortable explaining a sore shoulder in.

Massage and skin care under one roof

A licensed esthetician works alongside the bodywork team, so a facial, brow or lash appointment books into the same visit.

Every visit helps a child

One dollar from every session goes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Unbelievable experience! Thanks to the wonderful ladies for the couple's massage! I'll surely return.

Giving Back

Where does the dollar from every session go?

To St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Every time you visit, you are also helping a child in need: one dollar from every session, on every booking, with nothing for you to opt into and no box to tick. Simple. Meaningful. Together.
