Delivery

How fast does an e-gift card arrive?

Within minutes, by email. Buy it on the studio's own Square gift-card page, set the amount, type in the recipient's address and a message, and it lands in their inbox — nothing to post, nothing to collect.

The studio is closed on Sunday. The gift-card page is not, so a card bought on a Sunday evening is with them that night and they can hold a time before the phone opens at 8 on Monday.

What the recipient gets

An email carrying the card and the code that spends it. They enter the code at checkout when they book, or bring the email to the appointment. If a code will not take, (540) 290-3383 reaches a person Monday to Saturday, until 6:30 PM.

Buying for someone who is not in Staunton

Nothing physical has to travel. Waynesboro is about 18 minutes away via I-64 west to VA-262, then US-11 north, Harrisonburg about 35 down I-81, and people book in from both.

The Fine Print

Does a Healing Touch gift card expire?

No. The e-gift cards carry no expiry date, and the studio's own line has always been that there is no pressure to use one fast.

A prepaid package is the one thing here that can carry a date. Packages are blocks of discounted sessions, so the two are separate purchases and the card is the flexible one.

Where a date does apply

The 60-minute and the 2-hour packages are written to be used within a year of purchase. The 75- and 90-minute tiers do not publish a term, so ask when you buy. The Wellness Package's bonus add-on depends on finishing all three sessions inside two months.

The Menu

What can a gift card be spent on?

Every service and every add-on on the menu — massage, facials, lashes, brows and waxing. It is a balance on the studio's own account, so the person holding it picks.

NCCIH's tips for choosing a massage therapist say to ask about training, experience and credentials, about how many sessions a situation might need, and about cost. Those are answerable here, on the phone, before you buy anything: (540) 290-3383.

The two add-ons with rules attached

The reflexology add-on has to accompany a massage, and exfoliation needs a session of 60 minutes or longer. Hot towels do not extend the appointment, and the Himalayan salt stone upgrade takes no extra time.

  • Any massage in the table below, from 45 minutes to five hours
  • A couples massage on two tables in one room, or a duo booking in two rooms
  • Facials, lash lifts, lash extensions, brow shaping and waxing with the licensed esthetician
  • Add-ons — heated stones, essential oils, hot towels, cupping, gua sha, Thai stretching

Prepaid Packages

Is a package cheaper than a gift card?

For someone who already books regularly, yes. A gift card is worth its face value; a package holds six sessions of one length, each one carrying hot stone therapy and an essential-oil treatment.

Booked one at a time, each of those visits is the session price plus the stones and the oils at their add-on prices — on the two-hour session the stone is already included, so that tier counts only the oils.

In a four-week trial for chronic neck pain summarised on NCCIH's science digest, 60 minute massages given multiple times per week were more effective than fewer or shorter sessions. That was neck pain, and a course of sessions booked close together — which is what six prepaid hours make easy.

The smaller three-session package

Wellness Package — Three Hours is $249. Three sixty-minute massages with one free add-on each visit: hot stone feet, an essential-oil upgrade, cupping or gua sha. Finish all three within two months and a fourth add-on is free.

Giving a package rather than buying one

Set a gift card to the package amount and name the package in the message — they book it and the card pays for it. Or call (540) 290-3383 and set it up directly.

Choosing For Them

Can I give a specific service rather than a dollar amount?

Yes — set the card to the price of the session you have in mind and name that session in the message. The card still carries a balance, so nobody is locked in.

Two sessions suit this. A couples hour puts two tables in one room with heated stones for both, $178.98 for the pair. A custom massage suits someone who has never booked bodywork, because pressure and focus areas get set in the first five minutes on the table.

If you are not sure which session

Give an amount instead. A card at $84.80 covers the 60 minute Custom Massage, the most-booked session on the menu, and the table above shows what everything else comes to.

Giving a named session, in order

  1. Pick the session and the length from the menu on this page.
  2. Open the gift-card page and enter that amount.
  3. Put the name of the session in the message field.
  4. They book online or by phone, and the card covers it at checkout.

At Checkout

What if they want to book something more expensive?

They pay the difference at the studio. The card goes against whatever they book and the rest of the bill is settled the normal way; if the session costs less, the remainder stays on the card.

Bodywork is a low-risk thing to give: NCCIH's summary is that massage therapy appears to have few risks when performed by a trained practitioner. A few conditions are still worth clearing with a physician first.

The health intake, and who should call a doctor first

Every client fills in a short health form before a first service. Please talk with a physician first for a history of blood clots or DVT, recent stroke, heart or major surgery, active cancer treatment, severe neuropathy, uncontrolled diabetes or blood thinners. Prenatal massage is on the menu — say how many weeks along when booking.

The 24-hour rule, worth passing on with the card

Cancelling or rescheduling asks for 24 hours' notice, and arriving late shortens the session rather than the next guest's. Saturdays fill first. The policies are set out in full on the FAQ page.

No expiry date, and no pressure to use it fast. Book when the time is right.

Sources & Credentials

What the evidence bodies say about massage and pain: NCCIH — Massage Therapy for Health: What the Science Says NCCIH — Chronic Pain and Complementary Health Approaches AMTA — Massage and Health NINDS — Headache

Massage therapy is a licensed profession in Virginia. The Virginia Board of Nursing issues the Licensed Massage Therapist credential, and § 54.1-3029 of the Code of Virginia requires an applicant to be at least 18 and to have completed a massage therapy program of at least 500 hours, then to pass the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards licensing examination or another the Board accepts. To renew every two years, 18VAC90-50-75 asks a therapist either to hold current NCBTMB certification or to complete 24 hours of continuing education including an hour of professional ethics. Any Virginia licence can be checked, free, on the Department of Health Professions lookup. Ask us who is working on the day you book, and check the licence yourself.

Sessions at Healing Touch Body Work are offered for relaxation and general wellness. They do not diagnose, treat or replace medical care. If you are pregnant, managing a health condition, or dealing with pain that is new, severe or getting worse, talk with your physician first — the two work well together.

Before You Book

Massage Gift Cards in Staunton, VA: questions we get asked

How do I buy a massage gift card for Healing Touch Body Work?

Online, through the studio's own Square gift-card page, at any hour. Choose the amount, enter the recipient's email address and a message, and it is delivered within minutes. You can also call or text (540) 290-3383 during opening hours.

Do Healing Touch gift cards expire?

No. The e-gift cards carry no expiry date, so a card given in one season can be booked in another. Prepaid packages are different: the 60-minute and 2-hour tiers are written to be used within a year of purchase, and the 75- and 90-minute tiers do not publish a term — ask when you buy.

Can a gift card be used for facials, lashes or waxing?

Yes. A licensed esthetician works alongside the bodywork team, so a card can become a facial, a lash lift or tint, a set of lash extensions, brow shaping or lamination, or waxing — the whole menu, not only the massage side of it.

How much should I put on a massage gift card in Staunton?

A 60 minute massage starts at $84.80, and a couples hour on two tables in one room is $178.98 for the pair. Gratuity is appreciated and never required, so there is no need to build one into the amount.

What happens if the session costs more than the card?

The card covers what it covers and the difference is paid at the studio. If the session costs less, the remainder stays on the card for next time — there is no expiry date on it.

What is the difference between a gift card and a prepaid package?

A gift card is a balance with no expiry date, spendable on anything on the menu. A package is six prepaid sessions of one length — or three in the Wellness Package, at $249 — with hot stones and essential oils on every visit.

Should I buy the gift card here or through another website?

Buy it here. The link on this page goes to Healing Touch Body Work's own Square account, the same one that runs the booking calendar, so the balance is ready when the email arrives. Other sites resell gift cards for this studio; whichever you use, the address to check is 838 Greenville Ave, Staunton, VA 24401.

Can I give a gift card to someone in Waynesboro or Harrisonburg?

Yes — it is an email, so nothing has to be posted. Waynesboro is about 18 minutes from the studio and Harrisonburg about 35, and clients book in from Verona, Fishersville, Stuarts Draft and Charlottesville too.
