Warm enough to feel through the oil, and never hot enough to be uncomfortable. Heat level and pressure are both adjusted as the session goes: say the word and the next stone comes cooler, or the therapist goes back to hands for a few minutes.

Custom, Swedish and deep tissue bookings of 2 hours or longer include heated stones at no extra charge, and so does every Thai, Tuina, Therapeutic Bliss and couples session at any length.

A 2-hour Custom Massage at $166.50 arrives with the stones in it, and so does a 2-hour deep tissue session. Thai Combination from $84.80 and Traditional Chinese Tuina from $84.80 carry heated stone elements at every length on the menu, and Reflexology includes them on any two-person booking.

The two-hour line

Custom, Swedish and Deep Tissue carry the stones on every row from 2 hours up; the 90-minute rows do not. That is part of what the extra half hour buys. Prenatal and Lymphatic-Style bookings are not listed as including them at any length, so attach the add-on there if you want the warmth.

If you are booking for two

Couples Massage puts two tables in one room and includes heated stones for both guests, priced for the pair from $178.98 for the hour — the couples massage page has the full ladder. Reflexology also includes the stones on any two-person booking. Duo Massage, the same hour in two separate rooms, is not listed as including them; ask when you book.

Yes — anyone whose skin cannot reliably tell them that something is too warm should talk to a physician first. Reduced sensation from neuropathy, uncontrolled diabetes, recent burns and blood-thinning medication all belong in that conversation, and so do a history of blood clots, major surgery in the last three months and active cancer treatment.
