The Route
How long is the drive from Verona?
About 11 minutes, and 7 miles. There is no interstate in it — Laurel Hill Road out of Verona onto US-11 south, Commerce Road for the middle four miles, then the north end of Greenville Avenue and a little over a mile south to the door.
838 sits on the even, west side of US-11, so arriving from Verona the lot is on your right. From the north you turn straight in. From the south the same door is a left across oncoming traffic.
What the last stretch of US-11 is like
Greenville Avenue is US-11, Staunton's main south-side commercial corridor — a center turn lane down the middle and a commercial entrance every few hundred feet. Leave two minutes of margin for it.
Where you park
Single storey building, lot in front of it, no meter, no second lap of the block. Hours and directions are on the contact page.
From the Government Center to the table
- Laurel Hill Road out of Verona onto US-11 south.
- US-11 through to Commerce Road — about four miles of it.
- Commerce Road delivers you to the north end of Greenville Avenue.
- A little over a mile south. 838 is on your right, and you park on-site.
The Window
Can I fit a session into a lunch hour?
A 45 minute session, yes — 1 hr 7 min door to door from Verona, both legs of the drive included. A full hour on the table comes to 1 hr 22 min, which is a long lunch.
If the window stretches to two hours, book the full hour. Forty-five minutes covers one tight area or a full-body pass, and the hour holds both — 11 minutes of driving is what buys you that length.
A shorter visit is still a real one: NCCIH describes the relaxation response as a measurable drop in heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen consumption and stress-hormone levels.
Add-ons that cost you no extra minutes
Two upgrades are time-neutral: the Himalayan salt stone adds no session time, and a hot towel wrap happens inside the time you already booked. Exfoliation needs a 60 minute session or longer, so save it for a longer visit.
The session with the shortest turnaround
Reflexology is worked entirely through the feet and hands, in lengths from 45 to 90 minutes, with hot or cold therapy and organic coconut oil. On a custom massage the coconut oil is on request, so if you are driving straight back to a desk, say so when you book.

What is there to do nearby?
More than the census figure suggests. Verona had 4,398 people in 2020 and carries the county's government, a commerce park with a public walking loop, and two National Register buildings.
The Trails at Mill Place is the one people name first: two thirds of a mile of paved path around a two-acre pond inside Mill Place Commerce Park, off Mill Place Parkway at 68 Centerview Drive. Walk the loop, then drive down.
The county seat is moving to Verona
The Augusta County Government Center has been at 18 Government Center Lane for years, and in 2021 the county announced it is moving the county seat there from Staunton. The two towns run errands into each other, and 7 miles is a short one.
Two Verona buildings on the National Register
Mount Airy, known locally as the Grandma Moses House, and Verona School are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

What do Verona clients book?
The same thing most people book here: a custom massage, an hour long, with the pressure and the focus areas set in the first five minutes of conversation.
NCCIH puts the risk of harmful effects from massage as low, and says massage has few risks when performed by a trained practitioner. This is bodywork for relaxation, comfort and general wellness; say what is going on at the intake and the hour is built around it.
Three languages at the table
Sessions run in English, Chinese or Thai — whichever you would rather explain a sore shoulder in.
If this is your first visit
Every client fills in a short health intake form, so arrive a few minutes early. What to expect at a first massage covers the draping and the conversation.
- A custom massage when you would rather describe the problem than name a technique.
- Thai combination for hips and hamstrings that have not moved much since the last long drive.
- Hot stone when the heat is the point.
- Reflexology when the appointment has to sit between two other things.
- A couples session — two tables, one room — when both of you are driving over.
Booking
Do I need an appointment?
Recommended, not required. Book online any hour through Square, or call or text (540) 290-3383 during opening hours. New clients are welcome; appointments are recommended because Saturdays fill first.
Opening hours: Monday–Saturday, 8 or 9 AM to 6:30 PM · Closed Sunday.
If the drive runs long
Arriving late shortens the session rather than the next guest's — the full fee still applies, so text ahead if the drive is running long.
Changing or cancelling
We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Same-day cancellations and missed appointments may be charged. A text to (540) 290-3383 is enough.
7 miles of US-11, no interstate, no exit ramp — and the lot is on your right when you get here.

Massage therapy is a licensed profession in Virginia. The Virginia Board of Nursing issues the Licensed Massage Therapist credential, and § 54.1-3029 of the Code of Virginia requires an applicant to be at least 18 and to have completed a massage therapy program of at least 500 hours, then to pass the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards licensing examination or another the Board accepts. To renew every two years, 18VAC90-50-75 asks a therapist either to hold current NCBTMB certification or to complete 24 hours of continuing education including an hour of professional ethics. Any Virginia licence can be checked, free, on the Department of Health Professions lookup. Ask us who is working on the day you book, and check the licence yourself.
Sessions at Healing Touch Body Work are offered for relaxation and general wellness. They do not diagnose, treat or replace medical care. If you are pregnant, managing a health condition, or dealing with pain that is new, severe or getting worse, talk with your physician first — the two work well together.
